Welcome to the Body Practice Site (and Defining The Causal Body)

Gary and I are pleased to launch this new website area for support resources for the Body element of an Integral Life Practice.

As we do so, my first inspiration has been to see how I can start to think of, and work in, some three body workout element into my run this evening – something that I have almost always approached as exclusively a Gross Body workout, which of course it is not – it is an all three bodies workout, as all three bodies go with us wherever we go.

So I was interested to take more care with my Subtle Body energies to start with - perhaps something that I had started to do as part of my practice of listening to the body anyway, but now with this new awareness of the three bodies concept, the whole thing is becoming much more clear and accessible in my mind and awareness, and I hope it will become so for you, too.  I kind of approach all this learning about ourselves and mastering our minds and bodies that “we’re all in this together”…

Defining Our Relationship as ’The Causal Body’

We’ve also been careful, this evening, in the way that we define the Causal Body, both wishing to make clear that it does not mean to imply that we are personally the cause of everything - we are not personally the cause of the various wars around the world, of course.

At the same time, as Gary also noted, we didn’t wish our definition to read as if we are merely in relationship to the Causal Self, where in fact we are within the Causal Self.  It is not something separate to us.  I’m sure we’ll work on this a great deal in the weeks and months to come.

So in the end Gary came up with the following;

“…in Causal Body work, as the traditons say, we begin to open up to the realisation that we are one within the source and cause of all things.”

In the meantime, best wishes with your Integral Life Practice, and with any Body elements you may wish to incorporate into it.

James Blacker, and for Gary Hawke also.

  • Getting Into The Habit of Thinking ‘Three Body’
  • February 21, 2010
  • Ever since Gary wrote his introductory module notes to launch this Body Module support area, and added a page about taking our ‘Three Bodies’ for a workout, I’ve been wishing to get into the habit of including this apsect into my daily exercise – which would be running in my case.
